It’s a viral photo on social media. It shows a masked individual carrying a sign with the following message: “I have the racially profiled Montreal police macabo.”<\/p>\n

According to the sign, the scene takes place in Montreal, Canada. But, the controversy arose out of what some believe to be a photomontage, as the phrase “I have the macabo” on the sign is Cameroonianism that would be unintelligible in Canada. Indeed, in the Cameroonian context, “I have the macabo” means to have rage, to be angry or angry. In short, this expression expresses discontent or anger.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Verdict: This photo is authentic<\/h6>\n

By contacting the author of the post on social media, confirmation is made that this is an authentic photo. Mireille T., resident in Canada, then confirms: \u201cThis is a real and authentic photo. It was taken on June 8 in Montreal during an anti-racism march. ”<\/p>\n

The authenticity of the disputed photo is also made possible by the use of a small free software: JPEGsnoop. He reports after analysis: \u201cimage has high probability of being original\u201d. In French, this means that the image has a high probability of being an original photo.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
