Frequently asked questions

How we choose, check and publish claims.

What do you check?

Claims circulating in Cameroon that are of public interest: viral messages, images, videos, public statements. We prioritise those that spread the most or could cause harm.

How does a fact check work?

A journalist opens the case and gathers evidence: official sources, people involved, documents, tracing where images come from. A supervisor reviews the evidence, gives the verdict and decides on publication.

How can I send you a claim?

Use the “Report a claim” page. Your name and contact are optional; if given, they are only used to contact you back and are never published. We cannot check every report, but every one is read.

What do you do if you make a mistake?

We correct it as soon as it is established and update the fact check. If you think a fact check contains an error, report it with the evidence you have.

Do I have to pay to read your fact checks?

No. All fact checks are free to read.

Seen something doubtful?

Send it to the newsroom. We check it before anything is published.
